E Factor Enterprise Challenge 2010

Tonight Lynsey was at the Oscar night for Enterprise Challenge 2010 held at the Town Hall in Grimsby. It was so well laid out with the Oscar statues and Red Carpet all very well organised. Lynsey and a few of her friends took part in the Challenge. They had to have an idea, design it, make an advert along with many other parts that went along with it. Tonight was the presentation of the Oscars Lynsey and her team won the Most Resourceful Team Lynsey herself won a award for Outstanding Contribution to the Team. All this glamour and glitz and where I ask you was my camera at home. I have been sent some photos from someones phone. I'm so annoyed with myself, it would have been a great scrapbook page. Do you think the man presenting the Oscar looks like Sir Alan Sugar, or is it just me. I'm so proud of you Lynz you are indeed my little star Love you. Lynda xx

TOO LATE AND FLUTTERBY WISHES

Well ladies I was too late for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. It was on my to do list for Monday but I had a cortizone injection in my wrist and just didn't feel like doing anything. On the possitive side of things my hand does feel a lot better just hope it lasts. Anyway here are a couple of cards I made a couple of weeks ago that I have not had time last week to upload to my blog. Butterflies and flowers my favorite things I think thats a cue for a song. The butterflies are a new cutter I got but for the life of me I can't remember who they are. I'm not at home at the moment so can't find out right now, will let you know in my next post. The flowers are various punches and I have glittered them with ultra fine glitter. Hope you like them as much as I do. Thanks for looking. Lynda

She is very proud of her card and I think with every reason. This is a close up of the painting which was done using T/H new distress inks, and the flowers were from RWS. The stilleto charm was from my stash. The pearls were the Hobby House. The card is for someone special for a special birthday. Happy 18th.

Orange or Terracotta

Evening I'm pleased to say that this week at work has been much better and more relaxed less stress. Thats the way I like it. I have heard a great saying on the radio today it's "If you stand on your tip toes you can nearly see the weekend". So while I have been less harassed thought I would get some cards finished and posted. By the end you will be fed up popping back. This card is one that I made while at my friday night craft class, I think I have spoken about our craft class before its a group of friends who get together on a friday evening. We make a card or two and have some tea and a few wee drams, sometimes we have too many and don't get any cards made. I must admit that we are better now than we used to be, some fridays we would have so much to drink that we couldn't remember what we had made the night before and when we looked at it the only place it was fit for was the bin. We have been doing this now for 4 yrs. The question is Orange or Terracotta Lynda xx

Friday sketchers, Simon Says 1,2,3 and Magnolia challenge

This is my entry for the above challenges, talk about having to make good use of your time. I really missed not entering the challenges last week, so although I have had a really busy week at work again I have made an effort to put at least one card together. My week has gone from bad to worse It feels like when one thing goes wrong then everything goes wrong I will be glad to see Friday night this week. The pattern paper is Basic Grey Two scoops The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearls on the butterfly are from my stash, the ribbon is from RWS, The border punch was my new MS punch I love it. Thanks for dropping by and Well done Anne for winning last weeks Magnolia Challenge. xxx

BEACH HUT

I'm so sorry it has been so long since I blogged but with a busy week at work and other things going on in the evenings I just have not had a moment. I have been away for a lovely weekend near Chester with my hubby for my birthday, what a good time we had too. Got back Sunday afternoon. I would love to thank you all for your birthday wishes, cards and presents, you are so kind. Today I have been on with a project that has been hanging around in my craft room (literally). A few months ago Tracey gave me a plain birdhouse and challenged me to alter it. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have never been into altering things. When I explained to Martyn and my son what I was doing they asked why would I want to alter it, the birds don't care what it looks like on the outside. Then I explained it wasn't for the birds it would stay in my craft room as an altered piece of work. They now think I am completely mad - but that's nothing new. So I have set to over the last few weeks painting and deciding what to do with it and this is the final result. Anne sent me a link to a great site called Cloth Ears and I loved all the stuff on there a bit out of the ordinary and this is where I got the idea for my Beach Hut. I'm sorry its not all flowery and crackled but I don't seem to be able to do sensible. Anne and I talked about my idea and someone said I think you need an extension on it so this is what I did!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed looking as much as I enjoyed altering even if my family do think I'm crackers. Hey Ho I will bring it to class on Saturday to show you all. Promise to be back soon. Lynda xx

GOOD DAY

I have had a really good day today. I got myself organised this morning before going to scrapbook class /crop at RWS. Well yes I did forget to pick up the sketch prints, just a small mishap. When I was there last Saturday I was impressed when Jane came to crop and had all the items she was going to use with her and had a good idea what she was going to do. So I decided that I would try hard to be organised and at least have an idea what I wanted to do. Well that's this week I'll see what happens next week. I will put some photo's on tomorrow when I get the light. Enjoyed being back at class today it is a month since we have been together and slightly more chat went on than scrapping as we had a lot of catching up to do. Lynda xx

Mojo back

I'm sorry it has been a while since I last blogged but work and activities in the evening have kept me busy. Just getting back to normal this weeek. Returning to some kind of normality and getting my Mojo back has been task and a half. Anyway all that said I have done a few things and today I have managed to get some photographs done while it was light.
I have completed Helena's challenge to alter the Bauble
This Rudolph who looked lovely on my tree this year.

As I have said before I have a group of friends and for the last 4 years we get together on a Friday evening and craft well besides having a drink and a Chinese. Some weeks we never get a card completed some weeks we get to tipsy to make a card but this week we made a nice card.

To cheer myself up this week I ordered a couple of Magnolia stamps I have been playing with them this weekend. Thought I would use them for the Friday sketchers challenge so working on that one but I have completed this one.

Love these stamps.

Thanks for looking in.

BACK TO NORMAL

Just thought I would show you a couple of photos of my dog Tilly having fun in the snow she loved eating it too. She couldn't walk as she had so much snow stuck to her little legs. Bless her
This is Lynsey having to carry her back from her walk.
Tomorrow is my first day back at work. In a funny sort of way I'm looking forward to it. I cant get myself motivated to do carafting. I have enjoyed the Christmas break I was ready for it, batteries are recharged and I'm ready to rumble.
Looking forward now to our cruise in April around the Caribbean we pick the ship up in Jamaica I am so looking forward to it but could really do with losing a few pounds first. I always think the looking forward to a holiday is part of the fun.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well here it is 2010. Can you beleive it's here I would love to wish all my crafting friends a very happy and prosperous 2010 I wish you all you wish for yourselves. Might have some more good photos as I'm having my regular new year party on Saturday and who says I'm not a party girl!!!!!!!!
I have decided not to make any new year resolutions as I always seem to break them so I have decided that I will say I hope I can do a few things to improve my health. I have promised myself to do the Friday sketchers each week. I'm so ready to get back into my craft room. Bye for now promise to keep my blog updated.

NEARLY THERE

Well it's just about on top of us now. I'm so looking forward to some time off work and enjoying some family time. I feel as though I should have finished work already as Lynsey has finished school and Ryan arrived home on Friday then Mum finally arrived on santa's sleigh on Sunday. So I really feel it is so unfair that I still have to get up in the mornings and go to work, especially in the snow. I have a few boxes to make to hold jewellerey that I have bought for crimbo pressies. Lynda xx

CATCH UP

This card I made for my friends son for his Mum
This one was for my friends mum and partner
This one for my friends wife. I must say I do love this stamp I borrowed it I think I need to buy it.
Well tonight I have taken some photos of a few cards that I have made, and my craft room after the effect that Christmas craft has had on it. I have now started tidying things away and can nearly see the table. I have found some lovely papers and stamps that I have bought and obviously needed at the time, but unfortunatley not had time to use, so I have put it away till next year. Tomorrow is my Christmas Party at work we are off to Rotheram to a fancy hotel not staying over though got to come home. I have been to get my nails painted and hair done. Lynsey has gone to her Rangers Christmas party tonight. It's all go in the household got to get pressies wrapped for Lyns while she is out.
I do promise that it is looking better.

ORGANISD OR WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

Well in my case it's or what I'm affraid. Just when I think I'm organised something comes along to remind me that I'm so not. I was running about like a headless chicken on Friday but had bragged to everyone that I was organised, with cards made written and posted most of christmas shopping done wow thats a first since Iv'e been full time work. So pleased I was with myself, then I arrived home ready to take my medication at 6pm and remembered that I had not been to the chemist to pick up my tablets. Thanks to Tracey's mum all was not lost she helped me out as we have the same medication a big thank you Chris. Just getting the craft room tidy on Sunday when Martyn says will you be able to make some cards for his mate at work. I couldn't say no as I make them for him all the time and just thought he had changed his mind this year anyway I set to and they are being delivered tonight. Have some photos to upload of my craft room after christmas card making will do it later. Lynda XX

CHRISTMAS CARDS

I have been card making today since 4.30 and I am totally drained of ideas, But I do think I might have finished. I have written all cards I have made and everyone seems to have one. I have to admit I have got behind with my journal over the last few days but promise to get back on track with it this week I have taken Victoria's advice and made a note and stuck it in the journal.. I promised myself last year that I would not get myself in a state about christmas and take on too much, up to now I have kept my promise. I have finished Guides last Thursday, I am posting on Friday so better be finished. I want to put up decorations inside and out this weekend. I want to do some altered craft I have never done anything like it before so it's something different. I finish work on christmas eve and don't go back till monday the 4th Jan I can't wait. Lynda xx
